Comedian Ari Schaffir started it, but Carlos Mencia, D.L Hughley and
George Lopez carried it on. This is a videoclip that shows how hard it
is to be an original comedian.

It begs the question, does it matter if funny material isn’t your own?
Rhetorical question, and one answer is: As long as you bring something
new to the table, say what you like. And if people laugh at the comedy,
cool. And as long as the comedians start their routine with a
disclaimer about where they got the jokes from, all should be well.
