In this videoclip. cross-dresser and comedian Eddie Izzard, cleverly picks up on the differences between US and UK pronunciation. He finishes up with the terrible economic burden of not being able to speak a second language. The topics have been done to death in the past by comedians, but he always seems to surprise with a clever and funny angle.

When talking about languages, Eddie Izzard ridicules the English, imitating a stuck-up old guy who says “Two languages in one head, noone can live at that speed!” Izzard can tell that joke, and laugh at his fellow countrymen too, because he is actually a very bright guy who does stand-up in French as well as English. Also an actor, he most recently stumbled his way through as G-Girl (Uma Thurmen’s) ex-childhood sweetheart. And with his dress sense and skills with make-up too, multi-talented is about the right word to describe the English comedian.

All-in-all the stand-up comic and actor Eddie Izzard is bi-lingual, apparently heterosexual, funny, and shameless. A surprising and perennial hard act to follow.
